TRAUMA THERAPY
Safe recovery from Trauma and PTSD

Snowdrops

Do you know what I was, how I lived?  You know
what despair is; then
winter should have meaning for you.

I did not expect to survive,
earth suppressing me. I didn’t expect
to waken again, to feel
in damp earth my body
able to respond again, remembering
after so long how to open again
in the cold light
of earliest spring–

afraid, yes, but among you again
crying yes risk joy

in the raw wind of the new world.

Louise Gluck

Trauma therapy is a one-to-one talking Psychotherapy that focuses on safe recovery from Trauma and PTSD.
I have graduated with a Masters degree in Core Process Psychotherapy (Mindfulness-based Psychotherapy) at the Karuna Institute; and completed the full 12-days Somatic Trauma Therapy Training Course with Babette Rothschild.

I believe that providing a compassionate, non-judgemental and safe space is necessary for the client’s healing and growth. Focusing on the practical solution and depth of spiritual inquiry are equally important in my work.

Confidentiality

Therapy is confidential. Like all psychotherapists, my work is supervised. Your identities are nevertheless not disclosed.

Somatic trauma therapy is a compassionate and effective approach to healing trauma that focuses on the connection between the mind and body.

Babette Rothschild has developed Somatic Trauma Therapy with a primary focus on enhancing the quality of life for individuals who have experienced trauma. It emphasizes the importance of establishing a sense of safety and stability for clients in their everyday lives and throughout the therapeutic process. In Somatic Trauma Therapy, therapists observe their clients’ nervous systems to ensure clients safety. It offers a gentle and compassionate path towards healing from trauma and fostering overall well-being.

In Trauma therapy, I aim to empower you by exploring strategies and tools together with you for managing limitations and stress in life caused by the past. It helps those who may not wish to explore traumatic memories or are not yet ready to do so but hopes to have support and improve their quality of life. Likewise, it provides tools and techniques to ensure a safer approach for individuals who choose to engage in trauma memory work.

I respect that each person’s healing journey is unique. By working holistically with the mind and body, I hope to help you regain a sense of safety and trust in life.

People come to therapy for various reasons:

– To resolve a present or past trauma

– To know ourselves deeper

– To manage PTSD symptoms

– When going through a significant life crisis related to illness, bereavement, relationships, or work

– When wanting support during periods of depression, anxiety, loneliness, isolation

– When suffering from a vague sense of unhappiness and dissatisfaction or dissociation

How do we start therapy?

I offer a free initial talk over the phone or video call. This is to answer questions you may have before starting therapy and to acquaint each other. The call lasts approximately 20 minutes.
I am currently seeing clients face-to-face or by video call.
I work both in a focused short-term way or open-ended long-term work, depending on your needs and the issues you bring. We would discuss and agree when we meet for the first session.

How long are the sessions?

Sessions are 1-hour long.

How often should I have therapy?

Once you decide to start therapy, sessions are offered for an hour every week at the same time and day each week.

How long do I need to have therapy?

Therapy is a personalized and dynamic process, and the number of sessions required can vary significantly depending on the individual and the nature of the issues you wish to address. Also, the success of trauma therapy is built on trust between therapists and the client, which takes time to establish.

It is a collaborative process, and the decision regarding the length and duration of therapy sessions is made through mutual agreement.

A minimum of six sessions is recommended to build trust and deepen our relationship. A review session takes place in the sixth session.

the Sessions are 60min and £70.

I have limited numbers of  sliding scale slots. Please ask for availability.
